Our service is a specialist therapeutic community designed to support young people with complex needs. Therapy is fully embedded in all aspects of the community, creating a consistent, trauma-informed environment rooted within the Good Lives Framework.
We offer on-site access to a dedicated therapy suite, ensuring that therapeutic support is always within reach. Our team of therapists brings a diverse range of qualifications and extensive experience in working with harmful sexual behaviour, delivering tailored interventions in a safe and supportive space.
Every young person undergoes a comprehensive assessment process, which includes psychometric testing (such as intellectual functioning assessments), as well as thorough risk and needs assessments. Tools like the AIM3 or SAVRY are used when appropriate to ensure interventions are personalised and evidence-based.
Support for Staff Teams
Therapists provide regular training, consultation, and wellbeing support to staff teams across the service. In addition, clinical supervision is offered to both the residential and education teams, ensuring staff are supported in their roles and equipped to maintain a reflective, trauma-informed approach in their work with young people.
Assessing the needs of young people
During their first week, each young person meets with the Head of Therapy to help them settle in and begin building a sense of safety and trust.
										Additional Services
At Apple Orchard, we take pride in our holistic approach to care. We recognise that strengthening family relationships is a vital part of a young person’s therapeutic journey.
										Good Lives Model
At Apple Orchard we base our approach on the Good Lives Model. The good lives model is an approach which steers away from simply looking at an offending behaviour and how to containing it, but rather plays on the resilience of young people in building better lives.
